After 10 years of renovations Rijksmuseum re-opens its doors to the public and amazes its visitors. A careful reconstruction of its original interior has been undertaken and the museum took the opportunity to completely rethink their rich collection. Indeed this historical reconstruction leaves a lot of room for a surprisingly free assemblage in the exhibition of the works themselves.
Paintings are put above historical furniture, sculpture and works of art meet to form a living entity allowing multiple levels of experience. A must for all art and history lovers. A guided tour (in French or English) will take you during two hours in the middle of the Dutch Golden Age as experienced through the eyes of their protagonists: Vermeer, Frans Hals, Jan Steen and Rembrandt.
Duration of the tour : 2:00 Start every day of the week at – 10:30 until 12:30 – 14:00 until 16:00 We meet behind the museum at the IAmsterdam sign.
